Before WWE NXT's much-awaited transition to the CW Network, CM Punk made an unexpected visit on the show's last broadcast on the USA Network. Punk was talking with Je'Von Evans backstage on the September 24 broadcast when Trick Williams who will face Ethan Page for the NXT Championship on October 1 in the CW premiere came over to him.

CM Punk, who will officiate the title event as a special guest, has said unequivocally that he plans to rule the bout fairly. He admitted to Williams that he is aware that Ethan Page could attempt to cheat, but he is not going to allow Trick or anyone else to get away with anything.

"The Second City Saint" returned to the show after making an appearance last week, when he was revealed to be the special guest referee for the WWE NXT World Championship bout between Trick Williams and Ethan Page, which will take place on October 1 in Chicago, Illinois.

Trick Williams and Ethan Page match will take place on 1 October

This championship event is taking on a new significance because of Punk's involvement as the referee. Since there is no evidence of bias, it looks like a fair and impartial contest as NXT begins a new chapter on CW. The NXT Championship bout between Trick Williams and Ethan Page is scheduled for October 1 on WWE NXT, with Punk serving as the special referee. On the show airing September 24, he made the announcement.
