Triple threat match between Josh Briggs, Wes Lee, and Ivar to determine number one contender for Oba Femi at NXT Battleground

Josh Briggs, Wes Lee, and Ivar will be taking part in a Triple threat match next week on NXT. The winner of the match will be the number one contender for Oba Femi at NXT Battleground. Wes Lee came to the ring following his win last week. He was addressing the crowd and remembered the good old days as the NXT North American Champion.

As Lee got emotional in his promo, the crowd cheered him. That was when Oba Femi entered the ring. The North American Champion claimed that he was not in the ring to disturb the celebration of Lee but praised the athletic wrestler for his incredible comeback. But Femi felt that Lee's time as the champion was in the past and he is the current ruler. 

While Wes asked for a shot at the title, Oba felt that he must earn his right to the title. That was when Ivar came to the ring. The Raw Superstar put forth his claim over the title shot. While he acknowledged the struggle of Lee and said that he could understand what it takes to return from an injury, Ivar added that he had to go through way more difficult circumstances to get to the title shot.

Oba Femi decides the type of match for the Number One contender

The Raw Superstar felt that he had an equally good claim at the title shot. That was when Josh Briggs entered the arena. Briggs said that he gave a brilliant performance in the NXT Stand and Deliver where the biggest NXT event witnessed his incredible match against Dijak and Femi. Josh added that despite the broken rib cage, he came close to beating Oba.

The North American Champion considered all the points from the three contenders. As Lee asked him to consider a fatal 4-way match for the title, Oba instead suggested a triple-threat match between the three the next week. The winner of the match will be the number one contender to face Femi at NXT Battleground next month in the UFC arena.
