'Stayed a little long' - The Undertaker regrets his match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 (Source: X)
The Undertaker was bothered about his match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33, as he felt to have stayed a bit too long than he should have. He then spoke about Roman's character as the Tribal Chief and felt a big credit for its success had to go to Paul Heyman. The Undertaker credited both Wiseman and the OTC for making it work.
Speaking about their match at WrestleMania 33, the Phenom felt it bothered him. The American Badass wasn't bothered because he lost it, but because he was not at his best at the time to wrestle. The WWE Hall of Famer accepted that his body was not in the best shape to elevate Roman.
"That still bothers me. Not that I lost, but I was just... I stayed a little long. I stayed a little long. I didn’t have enough for him that I would have liked to have given him. At that point, my body was shutting down. Yeah, I shouldn’t have been in that match, but [shrugs], anyway," said the Undertaker.
'Paul Heyman deserves his flowers' - The Undertaker
The star wrestler appreciated how good the character of the Tribal Chief was. He felt a huge chunk of its credit had to be given to Paul Heyman. The Undertaker agreed that Roman played his role brilliantly. He recalled the days when Roman could not connect with the fans to become the heel of the decade.
However, the Deadman believed that Paul deserved flowers for ensuring Roman got the job done. "It’s an incredible run, but Paul, Paul deserves his flowers. Roman deserves his credits as well," said The Undertaker. The OTC and Wiseman reunited during the Survivor Series War Games.
"Roman has come light years from where he was at, and he was already in a good spot, but he came light years, and I think there’s a lot of that he could take credit for, but Paul needs his credit," added The Undertaker. He felt Roman might have a lot to offer to the company.
