Randy Orton gets past Carmelo Hayes to enter semifinal of 'King of the Ring' 2024

Randy Orton defeated Carmeo Hayes to enter the semifinal of the King of the Ring 2024. During the main event of Smackdown, Randy made a statement by beating Hayes. The 14-time World Champion delivered a good performance and entertained the crowd right from his entrance. Hayes claimed before the match that his name (HIM) would emerge at the end of the match (Over RKO).

The former NXT star failed to keep up with the promise he made. Carmelo did give a good performance. For a brief period in the match, he forced Orton to bring his best version. As Melo smashed Orton from behind, the Viper became aggressive and smashed him. The former World Champion took out Hayes through the table thrice due to the demand from the crowd. 

Orton had the number of Hayes in the match and gave no room for the emerging star to return once he decided to teach him a lesson. Melo escaped the wrath of RKO in the first instance and went on to attempt a cutter. Randy's special came as he not just countered it, but delivered an RKO in the process. The Viper pinned Carmelo and claimed a win to progress further.

Randy Orton warns Tama Tonga

Soon after the match, as the interviewer was about to ask Orton about the match, Tama Tonga and the rest of the members of the Bloodline walked into the arena. Orton cut a thunderous promo and warned the Bloodline. The Apex predator said that he was not intimidated by their presence as he regarded himself to be the freaking person who takes out the opponents.

The legend killer issued a warning to the Bloodline and said that the MFT would realize what Orton was. Last week on Smackdown, Randy had warned Tonga about a future faceoff. Now that the time has come for taking action, the 14-time world champion looks all set for the action. In the upcoming week, the two will be taking on each other in the main event.
