Rhea Ripley recently spoke to some of the reporters and she opened up on the evolution of women's wrestling in WWE. She felt people took them for granted. Mami felt that the fans started to take them seriously only recently. She asked the fans to not disrespect women by saying that they overcome several obstacles and go as hard as the men's wrestlers do.
Rhea Ripley claimed that the fans had taken them for granted in the past. She felt there had been an evolution with each passing year. "Being taken for granted I think. The women in WWE, we’ve come a very very long way. We’ve overcome a lot of obstacles that were put in the way, and it’s been growing each and every year," said Mami.
The former Judgement Day star felt the biggest obstacle was to make fans get serious about their stories. Ripley was unhappy with the fact that the women's wrestling was treated to be a toilet break. Rhea felt the fans were disrespectful towards them in the past. Mami felt women put on as much hard work as men.
'Don’t treat us with that disrespect' - Rhea Ripley
"I think that was the biggest obstacle just getting people to take us seriously, for the longest time people joked about us being the toilet break, which is just plain and disrespectful, especially when the women go out there and we leave everything that we have out in the ring and we go just as hard as the men do," added Mami.
One-half of the Terror twins requested the fans to not disrespect them. He wanted them to know that the women can go just as hard as the men in a Wrestling ring. "So don’t, don’t treat us with that disrespect so we’re making people realize that we can go just as hard as the men, and if not, harder," Mami concluded.
Fans related to her statement. Many felt women's wrestling is treated as something similar even today by some. Many blamed the bad way of portraying women's wrestling as the reason behind it.
