Kurt Angle talked candidly about his connection to Vince McMahon. Kurt Angle discussed his opinions of Vince McMahon with Kenny McIntosh during a 2022 Inside the Ropes Live broadcast. Angle was asked to describe his interaction with McMahon when he returned to Raw as General Manager in 2017, following a contentious departure from the business in 2006.

When Angle labeled the WWE boss, "f**king crazy" and even quipped that McMahon was "going to hell when he dies" in a recent interview with Inside the Ropes, it made headlines nationwide. Although many saw his comments as classic Kurt honesty, the WWE Hall of Famer is now retaliating, claiming they were taken entirely out of context.

On December 17, Kurt Angle retracted and clarified his intentions on Twitter. "I intended this to be a joke for everyone who saw it," he wrote. I'm not sure why the person who came up with this statement, Wrestle Ops, made it seem so serious. It was a joke. I think they chose not to include my compliments on Vince's amazing work ethic and business acumen. Naturally, they did.

"Oh, yeah, you know what? I was really suprised. It was one of those things where I wanted to do it, but I wanted to get it out of the way, because I didn't know how it was going turn out. And I remember going into Vince's office when I came back, the first thing I wanted to say was, I'm sorry for the way I left the company, sorry for the words, the terrible words I said you and the company while I was gone," Kurt Angle said as per ITR wrestling

Janel Grant filed lawsuit against Vince McMahon

The Olympic gold winner insisted that he praised Vince McMahon far more than he criticized him, seemingly disturbed by the way his lighthearted comments were twisted. Nevertheless, the original remarks became popular due to their directness, particularly because of McMahon's famed backstage persona among professional wrestlers.

Janel Grant, a former employee of WWE, filed a lawsuit against John Laurinaitis, Vince McMahon, and WWE in January 2024. The case included shocking claims of sex trafficking, torture, and grooming. McMahon continued to refute the accusations against him and resigned from all TKO and WWE responsibilities on January 26.
