WATCH: Kevin Owens gives major scare on Smackdown, heel turn loading against Cody Rhodes!

Kevin Owens scared the WWE fans by teasing his heel turn on Cody Rhodes on the latest episode of Friday Night Smackdown. The star wrestler nearly went to hit Cody with the world title but ended up handing it over to him. In the process, he gave a teaser of what could happen after the match between him and the American Nightmare at the Bash in Berlin.

Earlier in the night, Kevin Owens and Cody were to be guests in the Grayson Waller show. As the duo of Cody and KO answered the call of Austin Theory and Waller, there was a surprise in the store for them. Grayson and Austin came with a video on the history of Kevin turning against the wrestlers from his NXT days to the Smackdown days.

Kevin did not bother about them and clarified to Rhodes that he was not going to turn against him. Kevin claimed himself to be a different person than he was in the past. He called Nick Aldis to set a tag team match between him and Cody against Austin Theory and Waller. As everyone agreed to it, the match was set to happen later in the night.

Before the match, KO again went to Cody and let him know that he would not turn against him. He also wanted to say that he had no plan to make a tag match happen before their match at Bash in Berlin but it was a forced one. Cody Rhodes was not worried and went into the match with a clear plan. It was visible in the way he fought in the match.

After the match ended, the title fell on the ring. Kevin took it up and went as if to smash Cody with it, KO did not and handed it back to Rhodes and went to address Waller and Theory. The fans were shocked at one point as Owens nearly had them on the edge of their seats. Kevin might be saving his heel turn for a big night like Bash in Berlin.
