Kevin Owens had a bit of a faceoff with Cody Rhodes after the main event of WWE Smackdown. As Cody indirectly became responsible for Randy and Kevin's loss over Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu by getting the referee down, KO became angry and started to yell on the American Nightmare. Randy stopped their brawl by his mediation and ensured peace.
Earlier in the night, Randy, Cody, and KO were confronted by the Bloodline which led to the tag team match between Solo and Jacob against Owens and Randy in the main event of the night. Backstage on the blue brand, KO and Randy discussed about their match. Cody assured his backing for the duo.

Knowing how the Bloodline dealt with the people, Cody Rhodes found it necessary to have his friends' back. KO did not want any help from Rhodes and was confident to take on the Bloodline. However, it was Randy who insisted Cody to have their back in case the Bloodline went rogue.

In the main event match, it seemed like KO and Randy Orton had a good chance to finish the deal. That's when the tag team duo of Tonga brothers entered the scene and tried to help Jacob and Solo. Randy ensured they were out of the equation. He delivered an RKO to Tama Tonga.
Kevin took out Tonga Loa and aimed at finishing the match. He delivered a stunner to Solo. Jacob recovered and delivered a super kick and put Kevin Owens out of the ring. He further delivered a super kick to Randy. Cody tried to trouble Fatu but instead hit the referee.
It meant the referee was on recovery mode when Jacob delivered back-to-back super kicks to KO. Solo took advantage and pinned KO to claim a win. Owens was clearly unhappy with the failed assistance of Cody. He yelled at the world champion and nearly ensured a brawl. Randy interfered and stopped things from getting escalated further. But everything might not be good between KO and Cody.
