Jon Moxley took a dig at his past AEW rival CM Punk on the July 2, 2025, episode of Dynamite with his promo. The Death Riders star took a leaf out of the John Cena playbook and targeted Punk's catchphrase 'Best in the world.' The AEW World Champion claimed to be much more than the best wrestler in the world.

In his promo on AEW Dynamite, Moxley indirectly took a dig at Punk and said that being the best wrestler in the world was something anyone would say by default. He then regarded himself to be better than that and indirectly targeted Punk and revisited their feud. Interestingly, John Cena also mocked Punk's catchphrase in his Pipebomb 2.0 promo.

"People call themselves the best wrestler in the world, that’s basic b*tch shit, I am much more than that," said Jon Moxley in his promo on the July 2 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite.

The controversy between CM Punk and Jon Moxley

In the past, when Punk and Moxley were both in AEW, they had a feud. Neither of them was pleased with how their feud was booked, as they have mentioned it over the years and even had a war of words on social media. Punk accused Moxley of refusing to put him over, while the latter refused it as a reply.

Punk was not a fan of Moxley's idea on their feud, who wanted their story to go in the lines of Rocky 3. The duo has talked badly about each other since then, before Punk returned to WWE. After Punk faced Cena at the Night of Champions for one last time, Moxley indirectly took an indirect dig at Punk.
