John Cena apparently turned back Baby Face on Friday Night SmackDown before WWE SummerSlam with his promo against Cody Rhodes to start the night. The 17-time world champion claimed he was blindfolded by his friend, referring to The Rock and Travis Scott, which forced him to use dirty tricks against his opponents.

Cena addressed Rhodes' attack on him a couple of weeks ago on SmackDown and a forced sign forgery for a street fight at SummerSlam. The star wrestler thanked Cody for doing it and for bringing the real Cena out of him. The world champion finally realized that the fans had been telling him he was wrong, but he failed to listen to them.

The Leader of the Cenation Army decided to bring the real Cena for his SummerSlam match against Cody and asked him to prepare for the same. He promised to bring the fight to the MetLife Stadium on August 3. Cena accepted that he never wants to ruin Wrestling but added that he would take the belt with him to ensure fans remember him.

Cody listened to what Cena had to say, had a smile, asked someone in the ringside to give them a couple of cans of beer, and shared them with Cena. The latter took a look at the fans and accepted Cody's friendship, who headed backstage for his preparation.

Cena then enjoyed thr night with the fans for the first time since the Elimination Chamber. There was a mixed opinion for the segment, as some believed he was still a heel and played a trick on Cody, while others believed it was indeed real, but not the right way to end his heel run.
