John Cena reveals reason behind using Styles Clash against Logan Paul (X)

John Cena and Logan Paul used the moves of some of the former's greatest rivals in their match at Clash in Paris 2025. While Cena used Styles Clash, Logan used the Upper Hand, Zig Zag, and a few other moves. The Leader of the Cenation Army claimed that such moves were used against those wrestlers with whom he might not share his ring in his farewell tour.
The 17-time world champion said that it was not possible for him to wrestle all of his rivals in his farewell tour and felt the best way to acknowledge their impact on his career was to pay them homage.

"I will say that I've had a lot of opponents over the years, and with eight appearances left, I know I'm not gonna be able to wrestle everybody who was influential in my career. But I think you saw tonight, the best way I can say thank you to some of those people who affected my career is to kind of pay homage by maybe taking some risks and doing some stuff that I don’t normally do out there," Cena said in the post-show.

Cena added that his using the Styles Clash was a shout-out to AJ. The star wrestler hoped to pull off more such moves for the rest of the farewell tour to entertain the fans.

"I gotta shout out AJ. But, I'm just saying, hopefully I can do more of that and take my game to a different level and in turn, do what we’re supposed to do — and that's entertain the fans," Cena added in his statement.
