At the Elimination Chamber 2025, Cena turned heel and joined forces with The Rock. The WWE Raw after the Chamber was scheduled in Brussels, which kick-started the European Tour. Cena received huge heat from the Belgian crowd that disapproved of his actions against Cody Rhodes. The Leader of the Cenation Army took a dig at the fans in his promo.

In one of the moments in his promo, Cena claimed that he has had a toxic and dysfunctional relationship with the fans and pointed at a kid wearing his T-shirt. The kid was deeply depressed as his face popped up on the big screen. Days later, the kid acknowledged that Cena was going through a rough phase.

On WWE SmackDown before Clash in Paris, the kid showed up and caught Cena's attention. The 17-time world champion accepted his mistakes and claimed he had said bad things about fans, apologizing to everyone. He personally went to where the kid had been seated in the arena.
