John Cena opened up on the prospect of facing The Rock one final time before announcing his retirement. Cena, who is currently on the same page with The Final Boss since the Elimination Chamber 2025, claimed it to be a cool idea. The 17-time world champion added that he has survived in WWE without setting any expectations upon himself.
Cena showed up in the show named 'Fan Expo Denver', where he opened up on the fantasy booking from the fans. He compared it with that of Baseball fans and felt it could indeed be cool if he got to face The Rock one final time before saying goodbye to the WWE universe as an active wrestler.

"Gosh. Fantasy booking. For those who are not inside baseball, fantasy booking is when you take an idea in your head and you’re like, 'Man, it would be cool if…' That’s what I’m hearing. "'Man, it would be cool if John Cena could fight The Rock one more time.' And that, to me, would be cool," said John Cena.

At the Elimination Chamber, Cena sold his soul to The Rock and turned against Cody Rhodes, marking a strong alliance. However, since then, there has not been any mention of the People's Champ, leading to doubts in the minds of the fans regarding the relationship between the duo in their alliance.

"I’ve survived and kept a level head over 25 years in the WWE by not setting expectations, by showing up every single day, doing what I’m told, and asking to do it to the best of my ability," Cena added in his statement. The star wrestler is set to defend his world title against Cody at WWE SummerSlam.
