In one of the episodes of WWE Smackdown Live in 2017, John Cena kissed Nikki Bella after being slapped by Maryse. There was a mixed tag team feud between the pair of The Miz and Maryse against John and Bella in 2017. As Nikki slapped Cena's face, Nikki came down running and forced Maryse and The Miz to retreat. Cena and Nikki then kissed each other in the ring.

John Cena had a good run in 2017 as a wrestler. His feud with The Miz would be one to remember. It had the concept of love birds of John and Nikki going against the married couple of The Miz and Maryse. The motive of the story was to elevate Nikki like never before. In one of the segments of the feud, Maryse and The Miz confronted the star wrestler.

The duo of Maryse and The Miz wasted no time and addressed Cena. After their promo, Maryse slapped the life out of the leader of the Cenation Army. While Cena was not offended by it, he claimed she did the wrong thing by bringing Nikki into the equation. Bella came down running through the entrance arena. Maryse and The Miz retreated from the ring.

Nikki Bella's message for Maryse

Nikki Bella looked after Cena and verified if he was right. The duo later kissed each other to a loud cheer from the fans. Nikki was happy with it and took to X to share her happiness. In the process, she also sent a warning to Maryse. Nikki asked Maryse to never mess with her man again and claimed she would face the consequences for doing so.

"Finally.. A kiss in the ring. PS Don't ever mess with someone's man," wrote Nikki on X after Smackdown. It was one of the unique stories in WWE at the time. For the first time in years, the star wrestler was not in contention for any title and was used only to elevate several wrestlers. Fans got used to it in the years to come.
