Gunther, made his WWE debut in 2019 following a prosperous international career in Europe, Japan, and the United States. EVOLVE, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) were some of his major stints prior to joining WWE. Particularly as the current World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther's supremacy in the WWE has been clear. Gunther used Finn Balor's help to successfully defend his championship against Damian Priest at Survivor Series, but the champion soon made his position known by giving Balor a forceful kick following the victory.
According to reports, Gunther, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, is nearing the end of his negotiations to sign a new, long-term contract with the organization. Mike Johnson of PWInsider claims that Gunther has either already signed the contract or is nearing the end of discussions. The deal, which is anticipated to last for several years, will demonstrate WWE's ongoing dedication to the current World Heavyweight Champion.
After helping Gunther win at Survivor Series, Finn Balor demanded a title chance, but Gunther went on to defeat Dominik Mysterio in a later Raw encounter. Following his victory over Mysterio, Balor assaulted Gunther once more in an attempt to get a title fight against Adam Pearce. Gunther had previously consented to defend his championship against Balor on Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14, according to Pearce.
