The Great Khali claimed his maiden world title by winning the 20-man Battle Royal for the World Heavyweight Championship. On the 20th of July 2007, a match was set to take place on Smackdown and Khali emerged victorious. He eliminated two of the biggest stars of the time on the blue brand Batista and Kane to become the world champion.
The match featured some of the top stars like Mark Henry, Kane, Batista, MVP, Matt Hardy, and others. At the start of the match, Batista went after Khali. However, it seemed like there was none to challenge the Indian wrestler. Henry eliminated both Majors. Khali eliminated Shane and Funaki. It seemed like none wanted to face The Great Khali.

Henry and Khali cleared the entire ring and went up against each other. Kane and Batista joined the fight and everyone else joined. There was a group attempt to eliminate Henry which was successful. Khali operated on Kane and Chris Masters. Khali chopped his opponents like MVP and Matt Hardy. It was a total domination from the Indian wrestler in the match. None went close to the mighty wrestler.

Batista eliminated three wrestlers in a matter of ten seconds. He then went face-to-face with Kane. Jamie Nobel tried to take on the duo but got eliminated in the process. Eugene tried to do the same and met a similar fate. Matt eliminated MVP and the count was down to 8 in the ring. Jimmy Wang Yang eliminated Chavo Guerrero and Masters. At that point, only six men were in the ring.
Khali took on Wang Yang while Hardy operate with Finlay. Kane and Batista tried to eliminate Khali but in vain. While Hornswoggle eliminated Wang Yang, Khali eliminated Hardy. Batista speared Finlay and eliminated him. Khali fought his way and took out both Kane and Batista at the same time to become the world champion. In the process, he became the first Indian wrestler to become a world champion in WWE.
