DIY end A-Town Down Under's tag team title reign on WWE Smackdown

DIY ended the tag team title reign of A-town Down Under in the main event of Smackdown. The duo of Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa beat Austin Theory and Grayson Waller who were the champions since WrestleMania XL. The duo of Ciampa and Gargano held on to double neck lock and the duo of Austin and Grayson had no answer to it and double tapped that ensured DIY's win.

The match started between the two sides on an interesting note. Grayson Waller and Ciampa were up against each other but instead beat Johnny and Austin who were outside the ring. Gargano and Ciampa took out Austin and Waller yo take the early lead. But the DIY duo returned soon and got their control over the match. Waller gave a wickedly impressive performance.

It was wicked because as has been the case in the last few weeks, he was happy to sacrifice his opponent for his good. But Grayson delivered the goods and dominated DIY in the ring. As Ciampa got the tag from Gargano, he gave back the momentum to DIY. The fans were invested well in the match and backed DIY to pull off the win. The champions sensed the heat and tried to return to the match.

DIY win via double submission

The two sides got a good opportunity to force a pinfall on several instances. But there was fight left in the match. Austin Theory saved the match in a lot of instances for the champions. Gargano was frustrated as they could not get the job done. Tomasso Ciampa and Gargano then planned well to take on the champions. They went with a double attack on the duo.

It helped them as Gargano was out. The finisher maneuver worked for DIY. The only threat was Austin who was still alive. Ciampa got his neck locked as Gargano got Waller's neck locked. Austin and Waller had no choice but to tap out. DIY won the match via double submission. It was a massive win for them and the crowd acknowledged it with loud cheers.
