Here's what Cody Rhodes has to say about his heel turn

Cody Rhodes spoke about the people's expectations of him becoming a heel in the near future. The American Nightmare said that it would be difficult to be a heel today. Cody said that by definition, the heel is someone who plays a negative character. However, he said that people regard a heel in right and wrong terms. Cody said such terms have come into existence due to The Rock.

He felt playing the character would be difficult for him in 2024. The WWE Champion said that someone like the final boss is loved by the fans as a heel. Cody praised the fact that The Rock identified it and turned heel but did not take people to the extreme level of hate for him. Cody felt it led to a momentary hate among fans which was executed well. 

Cody said that most people did not like the fact that the great one tried to take away his spot. "In his case, he upset people greatly as he was taking away a spot, and he was smart enough to know that's a good spot to be in. Most people aren’t comfortable taking that spot. Most people don’t want to explore being hated," said Cody Rhodes.

Will people hate Cody Rhodes the heel?

Recently in an interview, The Undertaker pitched the idea of Rhodes turning heel. He felt the world champion could have a greater run as a heel than he has had as a face. Rhodes replied to such scenarios and felt it would be a difficult task for him to turn heel who would be hated by all kinds of people. He said the fans would start hating him.

Rhodes said that a heel is someone who does not sell merchandise. That's where he felt The Rock distinguished himself from a conventional heel. He added that it would be difficult for him to play a character that must go to the extreme level of negativity that would eventually result in the people hating him as a heel.
