Cody Rhodes defends world title against Solo Sikoa with assistance of Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens at SummerSlam

Cody Rhodes defended his world title by beating Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam with a bit of assistance from Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, and the 'Original Tribal Chief' Roman Reigns. The American Nightmare delivered Cross Rhodes and pinned Solo to claim a win.  Roman surprisingly assisted Cody against Solo Sikoa.

Solo Sikoa dominated the match for the most part. The Bloodline star wasn't intimidated by the chants of "Solo sucks" and "We want Roman". He took on the American Nightmare and looked good. It was one of the greatest performances of Solo in a ring. Cody tried to hang in the contest despite getting dominated by the Head of the Table.

Solo was all over Cody in the middle. He delivered a Samoan Drop, Rock Bottom, and troubled Rhodes. Despite the massive efforts, Rhodes survived. As Solo had the momentum, Cody Rhodes waited for his opportunities. He got one by delivering a powerbomb. The duo shared Head Butts, forearms, and punches. The fans booed Solo and cheered Cody.

Out of nowhere, Rhodes delivered a Cross Rhodes to Sikoa. Just when he was about to pin, the Tonga brothers came to Solo's assistance. To equal the odds, in came Kevin Owens. KO took on Tonga brothers and Solo. But the Tonga brothers were up for the fight only to see the return of Randy Orton. The fans went crazy as he delivered an RKO to Tonga Loa.

KO delivered a power slam and moonSault to Solo. Cody went for the pinfall but Solo kicked out at two. Randy and Kevin went after the Tonga brothers. Cody hit Solo with a steel stair. Solo speared Cody but couldn't get a pinfall. Cody went for three Cross Rhodes. Jacob Fatu came for Solo's assistance during the third and took out Rhodes. 

As Fatu tried to get Solo a win, Cody kicked out at two. Jacob delivered a series of Superkicks and vicious MoonSaults. He took out the furniture and delivered a moinSault to Rhodes. Though he hurt his leg in the process, Solo took advantage of the situation and delivered a big splash. Cody still kicked out at two. What followed was everything the fans expected. Roman Reigns returned and took out Solo. Cody claimed a win via pinfall.
