There were several high-stakes matches in Money in the Bank, but the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match was distinguished for having even larger stakes. Seth Rollins and Damian Priest engaged in a fierce brawl as the match's winner.

It was a Last Chance encounter to decide who would win the World Heavyweight Championship. Should Priest prevail, Seth Rollins would be barred from contesting for the championship for as long as Priest was the champion. On the other hand, Priest would have to depart The Judgement Day if Rollins won.

At WrestleMania, Damian Priest exchanged the briefcase for cash after 281 days of possession. At Money in the Bank, Priest and Rollins had a fierce back-and-forth exchange. Then, in order to create a triple threat match, Drew McIntyre entered the ring and utilised his Money in the Bank briefcase.

With an unexpected move, CM Punk entered the ring and defeated Drew McIntyre. At ringside, he used a steel chair to completely demolish McIntyre. There was no DQ since it posed a triple threat. Punk persisted in his attack on Drew at ringside as the bout proceeded. After that, Punk took a long time to consider the World Heavyweight Championship before taking it.
