CM Punk returns to Chicago and gets backing of Cody Rhodes against The Bloodline

CM Punk returned to Chicago on a thunderous note. The fans welcomed him with a loud cheer. The entrance of Punk was electrifying as he addressed the crowd. Punk spoke about pressure of winning the world title at home. He took an indirect dig at the failure of Drew McIntyre to win the title at home. The second city saint claimed the threats he received from Glasgow fans.

Punk said that people claimed him to not spare if he was to cost the Scottish Warrior. The voice of the voiceless said he kept the promise of getting out of the home arena in 2011 as a champion and did against John Cena. The Chicago star was pumped up for his home return. The second city star said Drew couldn't handle the pressure of having to win the title at home.

He then spoke about McIntyre quitting WWE. The former world champion said he wanted to hurt Drew more but missed him in the arena as he could not achieve it. That was when Paul Heyman interrupted him in the speech. He asked the permission of the hometown man to enter the ring as the fans chanted "ECW". Paul seemed to be a worried man.
