Karrion and Scarlett had a roller coaster of a ride since their return in 2022. They featured both on the main roster and NXT. The duo was paired with the Authors of Pain under the stable, Final Testament, towards the second half of 2023. and were directed in a story against the Street Profits and Bobby Lashley.

The feud came to an end at WrestleMania XL, where the Final Testament lost to Lashley, Montez Ford, and Angelo Dawkins in a 6-man tag team match. Towards the second half of 2024, they were set to have a feud with the Wyatt Sicks, which could have saved both of these factions. Unfortunately, Uncle Howdy's injury meant both groups had time off-screen.

Why is WWE not too keen to extend the contract with Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux?

Following that, Kross and Co. were not used well, as there was no proper direction. The AOP duo got released, which meant Scarlett and Karrion were alone on their way. Kross did not get a lot of time in the ringside and resorted to cutting promos backstage.

His promo skills and character work were exceptional, which meant the fans rallied behind him, forcing a feud with Sami Zayn for Night of Champions and SummerSlam. However, Kross did not impress with his in-ring abilities, which could have prompted WWE to think twice before extending the contract.
