LA Knight landed himself in a trouble with his poor refereeing during the match between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes on WWE Smackdown. The US Champion was in the match as a special guest referee and ended up attacking both the stars leading to a disqualification. Nick Aldis was unhappy with it and announced a triple threat match at Crown Jewel.
Knight was the first to enter the arena to a thunderous pop from the fans. He was in his usual gear with a special addition. The star wrestler wore the referee T-shirt and donned the title on his waist all the time while refereeing. Both Andrade and Carmelo had great entrances as they aimed to claim a win.

Both of them used Knight as a weapon throughout the match. Carmelo was the first to do it as he attacked Andrade in disguise. What followed was Andrade using Knight as a rope to fly over him to take Hayes out through the ringside. LA Knight was already angry by then.

The next few moments of the match got intense as both Andrade and Hayes indirectly ensured that the US Champion was hit. Without any intentions, the duo faced the wrath of Knight. The star wrestler delivered a BFT to Andrade. He did the same with Hayes and ended the competition.
The US Champion went towards the announcer table and rang the bell claiming that the match was disqualified. Knight was frustrated and angry as he returned to the locker room. He soon met Aldis who was unhappy with how the things went. He asked Knight the motive behind his actions.
The US Champion asked Aldis to see what transpired during the match himself. The Smackdown GM did not care what Knight had to say. He confirmed that Knight would take on Andrade and Hayes in a triple threat match at Crown Jewel. The fans got excited to the match given how good the feud has been in the last few months.
