John Cena had a special message for AJ Styles before the start of their WWE Crown Jewel 2025 match in Perth. The Leader of the Cenation Army's message, which was read by the announcer, had some of the career highlights of the Phenomenal One.
When Alicia Taylor read the message in front of everyone, it seemed like Styles was surprised, which he agreed in a recent interview.
Speaking to Justin Barrasso of the Boston Herald, Styles agreed that the message indeed caught him off guard, especially when it mentioned him as 'The definition of Total Nonstop Action.' The veteran claimed that Cena made sure the match was special for both of them and not just for himself.

"It definitely caught me off guard. When I heard 'The definition of Total Nonstop Action,' I thought to myself, 'Wait a minute..' He took this from just being about John to making it about John and AJ Styles. It's something he didn't have to do, but that’s John. That's just who he is," Styles said.
What's next for John Cena and AJ Styles?
Cena has officially four dates left in his retirement tour. He will appear on a couple of episodes of WWE Raw before taking part at the Survivor Series. His retirement match is scheduled for December 13 at SNME. The veteran is likely to face Dirty Dom in some of the next few dates.

On the other hand, Styles has confirmed 2026 to be his last year as an active wrestler. Earlier this week on Raw, the Phenomenal One won the Tag Team gold with Dragon Lee by beating Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.
