The planning for the WrestleMania 42 season would have started as the 2025 season is nearing its end. The upcoming major events in the year are the Survivor Series and a couple of SNMEs, one of which happens to be Cena's retirement event. Following Cena's retirement, the entire focus of WWE will shift towards the road to WrestleMania 42.

The only reason WWE has not pulled the trigger on her yet is due to her in-ring work, which has not impressed many. As soon as she becomes a better wrestler, she will be handed the world title.

Cargill's win against Stratton might lead to her feud with Bianca Belair, which is one of the dream feuds in WWE. There could be a case for the EST being the master planner for Naomi's attack on Jade before the Survivor Series 2024. The angle and dynamics between the two could be explored in 2025.

Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre has been very close to winning the Undisputed WWE Championship, which he might win at some point before WrestleMania 42. Cody Rhodes has indulged himself in a long war against Drew and their match is scheduled for SNME on November 1 for the World Title.

While Drew might or might not win there, he is nearly set to win it around or before the Royal Rumble. His case for winning the title gets stronger with each passing week. Cody's feud with Randy Orton is on the cards with the latter potentially turning heel. It makes sense for Drew to win his fourth world title, given his work on the blue brand.

CM Punk

CM Punk has the best chance of becoming a world champion before WrestleMania 42. The Second City Saint is highly likely to win the World Heavyweight Championship in his match against Jey Uso at Saturday Night's Main Event on November 1. By doing so, it will help WWE to book some quality feuds between Punk and others on Raw.

When Seth eventually returns, the rematch could automatically booked. Punk is among the most over wrestlers in WWE currently and has been enjoying his time since returning at the Survivor Series 2023.
