AJ Styles has described SmackDown as his built home on several occasions. However, Styles earned a solid history in Total Nonstop Action (TNA) just before joining WWE. Styles is open to returning to his old haunts, even though he exited TNA in 2014 after a 12-year stint.
Styles commented about the possibility of scheduling one more TNA match with Cultaholic while hyping this weekend's Clash at the Castle. Styles recognised the advantages of the recent WWE-TNA crossover for up-and-coming talent; however, he did not provide any confirmation. However, he showed his openness to the idea.
AJ Styles gained fame in the promotion owing to his skill set in the ring and stamina. He had amazing matches against wrestlers like Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, and Kurt Angle. He held many championships, including the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Styles' time with TNA solidified his place amongst the best in professional wrestling. Following that, in the midst of allegations of financial difficulties, Anthem Sports & Entertainment bought TNA, which was later rebranded as Impact Wrestling.
The opportunity to go out and work elsewhere is priceless: Style
"You can't learn everything in NXT alone. The opportunity to go out and work elsewhere is priceless. I heard what Leon said, and I sincerely hope it happens. I heard what Leon said, and I sincerely hope it happens. That would be a lot of fun to go head-to-head with him. And if it doesn't pan out, then we will both just continue to do what we do best-tear, the house down," he said.
"The concept of WWE talents coming into a TNA ring, or vice versa, really excites me. It's good for us and necessary for the younger guys. That's how you become a complete wrestler. It’s good for not only for talent in WWE to go to TNA, and TNA to come to WWE, but it’s better for the younger talent to get into the ring with some people who have different styles," he added further.
