John Cena officially turned heel and teamed up with The Rock against Cody Rhodes at the Elimination Chamber. So far, Cena hasn't explained his relationship with The Final Boss. There could be a common point that could bind Cena and The Rock into a single force. Both John and the People's Champ have something against the fans and the Cody Crybabies.

Cena opened up about his actions on WWE Raw. He claimed the fans to be the reason behind his turning against them. John claimed that the fans hated him despite his efforts to entertain them. Cena claimed that anything he did was never enough for them and were selfish. It is a highly justified reason to turn heel.
While some argue his heel turn has come at a point in his career where the fans are not hating him anymore, one could make a case where the fans celebrated Jey Uso's Royal Rumble win when they knew Cena was on his retirement tour and had one last shot at winning the Men's Rumble match.
The Rock and John Cena's common relationship with the fans
As Cody rejected the offer to sell his soul to the Great One, Cena improvised and did something unimaginable. John sold his soul to the Rock and was ready to do everything it took to win his 17th world title. So far, the Leader of the Cenation Army hasn't spoken anything about his relationship with The Rock.
Like Cena, The Rock has reasons to turn against the fans, which he did in 2024. Rocky cut a promo on his WWE Raw return in the new year of 2024 when he asked the fans if he must sit at the Head of the Table. Later, when he chose Roman Reigns as his WrestleMania opponent, fans hated him.
The initial response suggested the fans liked the idea of him vs Roman at Mania. But they later turned against him and preferred to see Cody vs Roman. Hence, both Cena and The Rock have a common point to go against the fans.
