Nick Aldis rushed to know Fatu's status backstage after he found out what happened to the star wrestler. He tried asking if Fatu knew who was responsible for his situation. That's when the focus shifted to elsewhere and the attacker was kept a secret. However, there are a few individuals with different motives, who could have attacked him.

Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre was the one who was scheduled to face Jacob in a match. It was later decided to be a Number One Contender match for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Hence, many doubted him to be the individual responsible for the attack on Fatu, including Cody. It led to a match between Drew and Cody in the main event.
However, McIntyre denied having anything to do with Fatu's situation. The Scottish Warrior is known to be a man of his words. Given his character arc, there's a lesser probability of him being responsible for Jacob's situation. However, he wanted to take advantage of the situation and demanded the referee to declare him the winner of the match.
Solo Sikoa
Solo Sikoa has history with Fatu. The entire Bloodline 2.0 featuring some of the MFTs saw Fatu's rise alongside them, only for him to part ways while costing Solo a chance of winning the Money in the Bank contract in the process. In weeks after that, Fatu and Solo went against each other till they focused on different objectives on the blue brand.

Their feud could be revisited if the creative plan has something to explore. If Solo becomes a champion again, the stakes for the feud would be bigger, which could help building the story better. Otherwise, the attack would not make much of a sense. It could also lead to Fatu fighting MFTs, helping their elevation.
Randy Orton
Randy Orton has been focusing on the world title on Cody's shoulders for over a year now. His voices so far haven't been able to ensure him snapping on his student. However, a better approach for the Viper would be to get a clear path for the title himself by getting rid of all the contenders for the gold.

Randy has been in a constant battle against Drew for a while now. As Fatu's match against Drew was announced to be a Number One Contender for the world title, Randy's focus could've been shifted on him. In the future, Orton's match against Fatu could be explored with the angle, which could lead to some quality matches.
