Summary

Advertisment
  • The WWE Tag Teams have been poor across the main rosters, barring the Men's division on SmackDown
  • In the Men's division, the return of the Usos and the reunion of Penta and Rey Fenix could help the roster
  • In the Women's division, veterans like Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss could make a difference for the Tag division

The Tag Team divisions have been on a decline for a long time on Raw and SmackDown. There has been a lack of good tag team champions in both the Men's and Women's divisions on both brands. The creative team has done nothing significant to address the issue, which has made the Tag Team divisions not too relevant. There is a need to revive the Tag Team division across brands.

The only tag division that has been doing well is the Men's SmackDown division. It has the likes of Fraxiom, Street Profits, Wyatt Sicks, Motor City Machine Gun, and DIY all fighting for the title. It would be better if one of these pairs were sent to Raw to compete against the existing champions. Along with them, a few other teams could help the revival of the division.

Penta and Rey Fenix

Penta and Rey Fenix were tag team partners when they were in AEW. With time, they got over, and their individual works were too good for them to be in a tag team. While they indeed went solo and made a name for themselves, the creative team in WWE currently has nearly no plans for Fenix. As for Penta, he has been booked for the IC title story without a worthy outcome.

While Penta could shine as a solo wrestler, for now, it would be good if he and Fenix reunite to improve the tag division. That way, WWE can weave a story around their future implosion, which would further help them get the much-needed leverage as solo stars. For now, as there are too many players in the mid-card division, Penta and Fenix could be better as a tag team.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss are two of the biggest icons from the Women's division, along with Becky Lynch, Bayley, Rhea Ripley, and Bianca Belair. All of them have had a good run at the top of the company as the world champions and have nothing left to prove. Hence, it would make sense for them to be moved away from the world title scenario.

Flair and Bliss have already been involved in the story with Secret Hervice. The latter reminded the former that she was her only friend on the roster and asserted the need to team up in a fairly new atmosphere for both of them. If they become a tag team, without a doubt, it will be highly beneficial for the Women's division, as the duo can uplift the tag titles.

Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso

Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso have a legacy as a tag team. Ever since Jey got over in 2023, the tag team got disbanded as both of them went solo. While Jey became a world champion and an intercontinental champion, Jimmy has not had as much success in his solo run. However, the time has come for them to reunite as a tag team to help the Raw division.

At their prime, Jey and Jimmy Uso made the tag titles as relevant as they ever were. Much like Roman Reigns, the Usos had a long run, which also saw the unification of tag titles on both brands. They were the first and only tag teams to date to headline the Main Event of WrestleMania (In 2023). If they reunite, the tag division is sure to have a revival.
