John Cena's final opponent is set to be decided through the 'Last Time is Now Tournament', which was announced by the former himself on the November 1 episode of SNME. As a part of the tournament, two matches have been confirmed so far: Sheamus vs Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev vs Damian Priest.

The likes of Rusev, Sheamus, Nakamura, and Priest are under contract with WWE. However, Cena mentioned in his announcement that the fans could expect some of the wrestlers who do not even work in the Stamford-based promotion. While they could be wrestlers from TNA and AAA with whom WWE has been working lately, there is a chance of some former wrestlers returning for the tournament.

Edge

Edge is arguably the greatest rival of John Cena. The two had numerous feuds together in stories in the Ruthless Aggression Era. It was evident in the way Cena paid tribute to Edge in his last match on SmackDown against Sami Zayn, which was repaid by Edge on AEW TV.

While Edge was written off TV in a peculiar way, where he hinted at not returning soon, fans felt it could be due to him potentially being involved in Cena's retirement tour. While there are only slim chances of such a thing happening, given Edge is in an AEW contract, if something like it indeed happens, it could be historic.

Andrade

Andrade's WWE non-compete clause has worked indirectly in his favor, as he has gained sympathy from the fans. As per the reports, WWE created pressure on the star wrestler to ensure he returns to the Stamford-based promotion. While it might not be true, there could be an interesting case for its possibilities.

In the 'Last Time is Now Tournament', Andrade could show up if it's indeed the case. While he returned to AEW and joined the Don Callis Family, there's a saying in Wrestling: "Never say never in Wrestling."

Chris Jericho

Oba Femi is the most probable former WWE star who could be a part of Cena's 'Last Time is Now Tournament'. The veteran is currently under his AEW contract, but is reported to sign a new WWE deal for his Hall of Fame induction and retirement. His AEW contract is set to end soon, which could pave the way for his WWE return.

Lately, Jericho has posted multiple videos from his WWE days. He even reunited with Kevin Owens, one of his best friends, with whom he had a story in WWE in 2016 and 2017 as friends. As he also has history with Cena, it makes a good case for him to be a part of the 'Last Time is Now Tournament'.
