There have been a lot of Indian tennis players who are now featuring in ATP tournaments and Major Grand Slams. This has also been the reason that India has been producing some legendary players as well. We have seen some iconic players that have gone on to achieve glorious things in the game whether it is winning grand slams or major ATP titles. This is what makes us proud of the Indian athletes.

This is exactly what Yuki Bhambri had done as he made it to the Munich Open finals along with his partner Albano Olivetti. The Indo French duo went on to win an intense semi final game against Lucas Miedler and Alexander Erler who were the defending champions going into the tournament. In The finals they were still up against one of the best doubles players which include 2-time French open champion Andreas Miles and the experienced Jan Lennard Struff. This was set to be one of their biggest challenges going forward.

Bhambri and Olivetti achieve biggest ATP win

It was clear that the German duo of Miles and Struff were one of the toughest competitors in the tournament. Jan lennard Struff was also coming from his first ATP singles victory as well. However the duo of Bhambri and Olivetti still gave them a tough time. The first set itself was a gruelling tie breaker which in the end went in favour of the Indo- French duo. The second set was another tight situation for both the teams which went to another intense tiebreaker. It was once again Bhambri and Olivetti who came out on top and achieved one of the biggest victories in ATP.

This was a great doubles final which every tennis fan would have enjoyed. Bhambri and Olivetti managed to win against possibly the strongest doubles duo in the tournament and emerged victorious. This is the first time an Indian became a champion in the Munich Open as well and we all should be happy of what these two have achieved even after being considered underdogs in the tournament.
