The Marrakech Open is almost coming to an end which has also featured some of the best Indian Tennis players. This tournament has not been that memorable so far where Sumit Nagal once again misses out on a chance to win his first ATP title this season after losing to Sonego in the pre-quarters. There are still some Indian Tennis players who are keeping the dream alive even today in this tournament.
One of India’s most trusted Tennis players is Yuki Bhambri who has partnered with French player Albano Olivetti this season. Bhambri has so far won 1 career title in the doubles while Olivetti is still looking for his first. They had already surprised everyone in the tournament Tsitsipas and Bart Stevens in the pre-quarters of the tournament. This was one of the biggest wins for the Indo-French duo in the tournament going forward, however, they still had another surprise in store.
Yuki and Olivetti make it to semi-finals
The duo were up against high-seeded players in the quarter-finals where they faced last year's Australian Open winners Rafael Matos and Nicolas Barrientos. This was one of the most intense matches we have ever seen where every set was a spectacle. The first set saw Bhambri and Olivetti win a gruelling tiebreaker. The second set was another tiebreaker which was dominated by Matos and Barrientos. Bhambri and Olivetti finally came back in the third and final set, where they won 10-7 and made it to the semi-finals. The two will now be facing the Austrian duo of Lucas Miedler and Alexander Erler in the semi-finals.
This will be another test for Bhambri and Olivetti as the two Austrians have been in great form in the doubles category. This is still a great moment and opportunity for the two to win a title in this clay season. Bhambri and Olivetti have already proved themselves as worthy competitors, but they still have two big matches to prove that they are a champion team going forward. It will be a moment to cherish for both players if they get their hands on the title.
