Tennis sensation and world number two Aryna Sabalenka has toppled Russian star Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova by 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 in the epic three-setter to reach the semifinals of the 2025 Australian Open at Rod Laver Arena of the Melbourne Park on January 21, Tuesday.
The two-time defending champion showcased her beast form from the start and won the first set comfortably. However, Sabalenka's opponent staged her comeback in the second set of the game and won it to take it to the decider. The Belarusian then once again showcases her dominance on the hard courts, hits some ridiculous shots, backhand and forehand slice shots, and storms into the semifinal thriller after winning the third set of the game.
During her post-match interview, Sabalenka was asked about her team getting the tattoo if she became the first woman since 1997 to win the third straight title in Melbourne. The Belarusian once again came up with the witty remark and stunned the tennis world. The 26-year-old was seen trolling her team hilariously by giving an example of sixth seed Elena Rybakina's coach, Stefano Vukov, getting a tattoo after the Kazakh star emerged victorious in the 2022 Wimbledon Championship.
