Tennis legends Venus Williams and Coco Gauff recently came face-to-face for a heartwarming exchange at the French Open 2025. Notably, the former is covering the tournament as an analyst this time, while Gauff is one of the top contenders to win the title here in Paris.

The 22-year-old star player made her way to the interview at the TNT Sports studio on May 29th, where she was seen joining some of the sports network's broadcasting team for the Roland Garros. Therefore, the seven-time Grand Slam champion Williams began her conversation by expressing her gratitude towards Gauff, who had come to give the interview for TNT Sports.

The former world number one has highly praised Gauff for her stellar clay-court run so far. Notably, the young American has made it to the finals of the Mutua Madrid Open and Italian Open but lost against Aryna Sabalenka and Jasmine Paolini, respectively. Her performance on the clay court surface makes her a strong player to win the title here.

Venus Williams backs Coco Gauff to win the French Open 2025

Williams has lauded Gauff's stellar run so far, which makes her a favorite to win the WTA singles title here. The legendary player was seen encouraging Gauff to focus on her tactics and game plan to have a stellar campaign at the ongoing French Open 2025. She had made it to the finals in the 2022 French Open before losing against eventual champion Iga Swiatek.

"And she's had a great year so far, and I know you have big dreams, and to win this tournament, you went so close. And you're going to absolutely do it. But, you have to do it one match at a time, but you got the goods. You got the attitude. I mean, you want to win every point, maybe too much sometimes. So the passion is there," the 44-year-old added.
