WATCH: Tennis Great Novak Djokovic arrives in style to make history at the Shanghai Masters after 5 years

Novak Djokovic has arrived in Shanghai after 5 years of gap and fans are very excited to the tennis legend back on Chinese soil. He’s got 4 Shanghai master titles.

Novak Djokovic returns to the Shanghai Masters tournament after skipping it in 2023. The Shanghai Open is full of expectations because this is the first tournament Djokovic is playing since losing the US Open tournament a month before. 

But Shanghai Masters is one of his favourite tournaments as accomplished the title 4 times which no one has ever done. For the first time, he defeated Andy Murray, Second Del Potro, Third Wilfred Tsonga and in 2018 he defeated Borna Coric. The Serbian tennis legend is one of the best tennis players and he has won 40 matches with an 83% winning rate. He is returning to the tournament after 5 years gap.

This year hasn't been kind for the Tennis great as he lost the Australian Open, Wimbledon Tournament, and French Open. The only happiest moment for Novak is winning the 2024 Olympic Singles Gold medal for the first time after beating Carlos Alcaraz in the finals. 

Arriving in Style in Shanghai

If he wins this year's tournament it will be his fifth title in Shanghai Masters and also his first ATP of this year. He was given a bye in the first round and he will face either Bu or Michelsen. In round three he will face either Cobolli or his old rival Stan Warinka. 

If he goes to the fourth round he will face Tiafoe or Bublik. In the quarter-finals, he could face Rublev, Dimitrov or Popyrin. For the semifinals, he could face Zverev or Rune or Fritz and for the finals, he could face Sinner or Alcaraz or Medvedev.

The tennis great will have a tough time before winning his fifth Shanghai Masters title. But when arriving Djokovic looked very cool and composed enjoying his time there. Let us hope good for the 37-year-old tennis player who is playing his last few years in Tennis.
