The Italian Open has finally come to an end and we got a deserving winner in Alexander Zverev as he won the finals in two straight sets. This was a great moment for Zverev as he won his 2nd title in Rome and his 6th ATP Masters 1000 tournament overall. This was a tournament where he was one of the best performers losing only one set in the entire tournament.

Though this accomplishment is still commendable, we cannot overlook the performance given by the finalist Nicolas Jarry. The Chilean was one of the biggest surprises of the tournament beating some big players to reach his first ever ATP Masters 1000 final. Unfortunately, he could not manage to get the win in the end, but it was still one of the best performances we had seen in the Italian Open.

Nicolas gets emotional

Even though Nicolas lost on the final day the whole crowd still cheered for him for his great performances throughout the Italian Open. He also gave some fightback in the finals against Alexander Zverev. The 28-year-old was like every finalist came up on stage and gave a heartfelt speech thanking everyone. Jarry also got emotional midway through his speech and had a tinge of disappointment while facing his family who would have wanted him to get over the line.
