Italian Open: Alexander Zverev wins his second Italian Open title after beating Nicolas Jarry in two straight sets in the finals

Alexander Zverev beats Nicolas Jarry in two straight sets to secure the second Italian Open title. First ATP title this season for the World number 5 which will give him a lot of confidence going into the Roland Garros.

It was the final day of the Italian Open and it was time we got to see who would be the champion going forward. This was the moment every tennis fan was waiting for to see who would win this last ATP Masters 1000 tournament before the Clay season. The men's singles final was one of the most awaited finals we all were waiting for.

The final was between world number 5 ranked Alexander Zverev and Chilean surprise finalist Nicolas Jarry. There was no doubt that Zverev was the favourite to win this encounter and has been in great touch in this tournament. Nicolas Jarry was the surprising player in Rome who won against some higher-seeded players to make his way into the final. This was a great former champion vs underdog matchup we all were waiting for.

Zverev wins 2nd title in Rome

There was no doubt Zverev was looking in good form and was the favourite to win this tournament, however, he was still up against a player who had a knack for surprising even the best players. The first set saw a bit of back and forth between the two but in the end, it was the German sensation who broke the service and won the first set by a score of 6-4. The second set might have been a slightly tough battle, but in the end, it was Zverev who got the victory over Nicolas Jarry.

This was one of the best tournaments for Zverev who went on to win his 2nd title in Rome and 1st ATP title this season. This is also the 6th ATP Masters 1000 title for the German superstar which will give him a lot of confidence going into the Roland Garros. Zverev was the best player in the tournament and he proved that in this final game where he was dominating the Chilean in most of the crucial moments. This is really a great moment for the Olympic gold medalist.
