The US Open this season has really been a tournament to look forward to as we have seen some incredible maches featuring some of the biggest stars in the game. The quarter finals have given us equally surprising results and there have been some big players who have been eliminated in these big playoff games as well which has made this Grand Slam event even more interesting.

One of the most surprising quarter finals game was between World number one Iga Swiatek and Jessica Pegula. There is no doubt that the Polish superstar was once again the favorite to win the Grand Slam once again and was still looking in great form, but it seems like Pegula had other ideas where she got the biggest victories of her career and makes it to her first ever Grand Slam semi final beating the World number with scores of 6-2 and 6-4.

Swiatek showing her frustration

This was one of the most underwhelming performances you could ever see from Iga Swiatek who was missing a lot of points and made plenty of errors in the game. It was ceratinly not a day to remember as the Polish superstars chance to win her second US Open title has been ruined. Even during the game we could see Swiatek almost lose her composure after missing a easy game point. The 5-time Grand Slam winner was about to smash her racket where we saw the otherwise composed player lose her cool.

This was one of the highlights of the first set which Swiatek would not want to look back at and this will be a tough game to forget for her. We have to give credit to Jessica pegula for giving a great performance and showing us why she is one of the most experienced players in the game and beat one of the best players in the WTA scene. This was really one of the low points for Swiatek where she was completely outdone by the 30-year-old.
