The night of February 12, 2025, in Buenos Aires was a memorable one for the Cerundolo brothers, the two Argentinian rising stars in tennis. Notably, it marked a great moment not only for them but also for the tennis fraternity in Argentina, as the two brothers showcased their exceptional performances in the same marquee event.
Francisco and Juan Manuel Cerundolo, hailing from the vibrant capital city, were seen showcasing their best game to the ATP Buenos, thrilling the home crowd and cementing their spot as two of the rising stars on the tour.
For Cerundolos, the evening represented more than just a win on the court. It seems a moment of national pride as brothers, whose tennis careers have been steadily ascending in recent years, were finally gaining the recognition they truly deserved on home soil. Francisco, ranked in the top 30 in the ATP rankings, had been a consistent force when it came to the ATP circuit.
On the other hand, Juan Manuel still seems to be in the process of solidifying his place and has shown a glimpse of his potential in the past. However, these two brothers, who share the same love for the game from their childhood in Buenos Aires, had never experienced a night like this one.

“I don’t know how many families can say that two brothers are playing each other in the last sixteen of a home ATP event. Tomorrow, whatever happens, we all win. Proud to play the night session at the Lawn Tennis Club. It’s not great, I can’t lie. I hope that we can put on a show so that our parents don’t get too stressed and they can enjoy it. But I wouldn’t choose to play with my brother because one of us is going to lose,” said Francisco, the current No. 28 in the PIF ATP Rankings.
