The fans present at the Foro Italico recently witnessed some high levels of entertainment and thrill in Daniil Medvedev's Italian Open 2025 clash. Notably, the Russian star stormed into the pre-quarterfinals of the tournament to face Italian star Lorenzo Musetti after defeating Alexei Popyrin in the Round of 32. As he competed against the home favorite, he faced partial behavior from the crowd.

The Italian star carried his stellar form into the Round of 16. He smacked powerful shots to get a lead over Medvedev after winning the first set of the game. However, the second set of the game became extremely intense, with Musetti maintaining a strong lead of 5-3 over the Russian star.

Thereafter, the crowd was seen erupting in joy while supporting the home favorite. This frustrated Medvedev, as he was seen making a hand gesture at the crowd and telling them not to make the noise by supporting his opponent.

Daniil Medvedev's bold stance on court struggles

Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev has recently admitted that he did not find comfort in the Pietrangeli court in the Italian Open 2025. The 29-year-old tennis star was seen talking about experiencing an awkward feeling in his opening clash against Cameron Norrie.

“If we’re superstitious, I do remember two years ago when I won my first match, it was on Pietrangli, and now it was on Pietrangeli today. Let’s try to keep the superstition going. Really happy with my match, happy with everything that worked today and looking forward," he said in a post-match interview.
