WATCH: Coco Gauff brutally defeat Tatjana Maria to make it to third round of US Open

The second round of US Open is what everyone has been looking forward to and there are still some great games ahead of us. One of the players who is a favorite to win this tournament is American number one Coco Gauff. The 20-year old star has a chance to defend her US Open title being one of the youngest players to win it last year.

Coco Gauff had started her season brilliantly in round 1 where she won the game against Gracheva in a very convincing fashion. This time she was up against a much more experienced player in Tatjana Maria who has also played a Grand Slam semi final in the past. However, Gauff being the highest seeded player in the game was the one expected to win this match and she had already said she has sights on her second US Open title.

Gauff secures another straight win

The first match was enough to show how much this tournament meant to Gauff and she had continued to show her great form in this game as she won the first set by 6-4 after breaking the German's serve. The American number one and World number 3 was now just one set away from making it to round three. The second set saw the 20-year-old superstar dominate again as she gets a bagel over Maria and comfotably made it to the third round of the tournament.

This was another amazing performance from Gauff and she has moved one step closer to defnding the title. The two games she has played so have been dominating one sided victories and she will want to continue doing that in the upcoming games as well. We all are looking forward to see the young talent finally have another triumphant Grand Slam victory and win everyone's heart once again.
