Tennis sensation Alex de Minaur expressed his aspirations for the future after finishing as the runner-up at the 2025 ABN AMRO Open. Despite the loss, the Aussie star acknowledged improvements in his game and committed to continuing his effort. The star player emotionally showed his displeasure after ending his journey as the first runner-up once again in Rotterdam. The 25-year-old also revealed that he had been feeling unwell during the tournament.

With his run to a second straight final in the ABN AMRO Open 2025, De Minaur is set to return to his career-high rankings of number six in the PIF ATP Rankings. The 25-year-old star player, who has been aiming to win his 11th tour-level title, was ultimately held off by tennis stalwart Carlos Alcaraz, who marked his comeback in a relentless third and final set.

Yet the Aussie sensation was unable to shake off the weight and depth from Alcaraz, who took an early lead. Despite marking his comeback in the second set of the game to level up the thriller, Alcaraz steadied himself to reclaim the advantage.

“We're pushing for bigger and better things,” De Minaur of his team. “It’s been a lot of improvements in my game over the last couple years and I'm going to keep on pushing for more. It's been two years now with this runner-up trophy. I'm hoping I'll get my hand on the winners' one day.”
