A hardcourt masterclass that sends a message to the ATP tour!

With Rotterdam crowned to his name, Alcaraz now becomes the first-ever player to win the showpiece event in it's 52-year history. The star player was seen acknowledging his improved performance on indoor courts, stating that it was just a matter of time before he played good tennis on the surface. The four-time Grand Slam winner admitted that many players perform better than him on indoor courts due to limited experience.

Alcaraz said that he stayed strong and mentally focused during the whole game against the Aussie sensation despite losing the second set when De Minaur leveled up the game. Staging off his comeback in the third set with a strong mentality was crucial, and he felt his game was at a high level.

‘That gives me a lot of confidence.. my best level will also come on this surface. This title is special because it is the first one indoors and I have shown that I can play well on this type of court. I'm happy because I knew I had the level to play well in these conditions. There are players who have a better game indoors, but I've managed to beat players like them and that gives me a lot of confidence.  My best level will also come on this surface , I have to work on improving what I've trained for," Carlos Alcaraz said after the win.
