A case that came to the forefront had tennis fans and experts eagerly waiting for the outcome. It was when one of the rising Tennis greats, Jannik Sinner tested positive for a banned substance. The substance was in very minimum quantity in the player's body to which, Sinner has been maintaining that it had entered his body unintentionally.

Owing to this, WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) confirmed that they would not question the decision that has been taken by the tribunal which was to clear Jannik Sinner of the allegation to his name. This has brought an end to the case which had piqued the interest of the Tennis fans and experts who had been closely observing the incident.

As per Corriere della Sera, CAS confirmed that WADA in Sinner’s case has decided not to appeal against the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s ruling. By the end of August, the news of the anti-doping violations came to light which was just a few days before the US Open had begun. The positive test results were out in the month of March, but they were kept hidden from prying eyes until the hearing was completed. The news of the test results was given to Sinner and his team after the Miami Open, earlier this year.

Doping saga comes to an end

The tribunal’s decision came last month which proved the Tennis star innocent, and stated that Jannik Sinner’s negligence was not the reason in this matter. Although it was a relief for Sinner, the case was still ongoing. WADA’s decision to not go into further digging can ensure that Sinner can now entirely turn his focus on his career.

Currently, the world number one played his last match on 8th September at the US Open. He was able to defeat the world number seven Taylor Fritz, earning the 17th title win of his Tennis career. Post this, the Tennis world would be able to witness the Tennis great in the Chinese Open which is slated to take place on 23rd September, 2024.
