Cahil's 'Pep-Talk' proved to be Successful

The motivation didn't fall into dear years, as Sinner dominated his American opposition in the finals of the Flushing Meadows at Arthur Ashe Stadium. He defeated Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 to win his second major of the season.

Sinner revealed how his gaffer motivated him before the showpiece fixture.

Sinner stated, "The best compliment I got was from Darren before the final,” the world No 1 said. “He said: ‘Do you know who the two people who are most proud of you are? Your parents.’ That gave me chills. Him being a father, it had a special effect on me because he knows exactly what I’ve been through.”

Cahil praised Sinner for his 'mentality'

Darren Cahil praised his disciple's mentality, and his ability to keep his composure in big moments. He praised Sinner for having a champion mindset which many players lack. He believes Sinner was born with the 'champion' mentality and he loves to perform under pressure.

“This morning he practised well. This morning we were talking to Andre Agassi in the locker room. He was talking about his game, and his mentality, and his composure also in the big moments," Cahill said on ESPN.
