Tunisian Tennis Star Ons Jabeur exits from the 2024 season

Tennis: Ons Jabeur has prematurely withdrawn from the 2024 Tennis season as she is suffering from a shoulder injury. This year is completely a shock for her.

Tunisian Tennis Star Ons Jabeur ended her Tennis season prematurely as a shoulder injury spoils her 2024 season. The shoulder injury has been troubling her since the 2024 season started. Already this year, she withdrew from several major tournaments including Cincinnati Open, Washington Open, and the US Open. She also withdrew from the Paris Olympics this year citing concerns about her knee.

'Extremely hard season for me' 

“This year has been extremely hard for me and as athletes we know that recovery is part of the journey,” Jabeur said on her social media. She further posted, “Due to my ongoing shoulder injury, my medical team and I have made the difficult decision to step off the tennis circuit for the rest of the season.”

Ons Jabeurprevious world number 2 said she will now focus on her philanthropic endeavors during her recovery period. She is planning to make her comeback at the start of the next year in Australia. She played many major grand slam finals and hasn't won any single one of them. 

The Tunisian Tennis star Ons Jabeur is now 22 in the world rankings. In June 2022 she held the world number 2 spot. She was 3 times quarterfinalist and 2 -time finalist in tennis major grand slams. In 2020 she played in the Australian Open Quarterfinals and lost against Sofia Kenin.

Ons Jabeur is the first Arabian woman to reach a grand slam quarter-final and finials. In this year's Australian Open Ons lost in the second round for the second consecutive season. In the 2024 French Open, she reached the quarterfinals for the second time and lost to Coco Gauff. She also played in two Wimbledon Tournament finals and lost. She played in the 2022 US Open Finals and lost to world number 1 Iga Swiatek. She is now hoping to Turn the tide next year as she is undergoing recovery.
