Tennis is a sport of uncertainties, as it has been proven time and again. On a given day, a player can beat anyone in the world, provided they put their best foot forward. With time, the fact has been proven right on many instances, as some low ranked players have beaten many higher ranked players on numerous occasions in different tournaments.
While a single player producing multiple such results would not mean an upset, an occasional massive result can be a big deal. However, getting to the final stages of a tournament despite being ranked low shows the temperament and caliber of a player. There aren't many instances where a highly low ranked player beat a higher ranked player in the penultimate round of a tournament.
