This year's US Open 2024 Tournament concluded with Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner emerging as the new champions for the first time. Both won their maiden US Open grand slam by defeating the Americans Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz in straight sets in the men's and women's finals.
Sabalenka won her maiden US Open title by defeating Jessica Pegula in two straight sets (7-5, 7-5) whuile the Italian Tennis star Jannik sinner beat Taylor Fritz (6-3, 6-4, 7-5) to win his second major grand slam. However, controversy has emerged after critics targeted Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro for failing to win the US Grand Slam. Both of them were targeted for being rich and not winning the title.
Tennis Legend came for the defense
Serena Williams Former Coach Rennae Stubbs Came in defense for Jessica and Emma. The 53-year-old veteran tennis player compared Jessica and Emma to Serena Williams and venus Williams. She tweeted “One thing I want to address that I didn't on my pod today. You can't buy your way to the top 10 or major final without an extraordinary amount of hard work on the tennis court, in the gym, and having mental fortitude and guts!.”
She said, “Jessica and Emma are working very hard just like Serena and Venus Williams."The Williams sisters were trained by their father at a very young age. Both of them share 30 world grand slams and 2 Olympic gold medals. Rennae Stubbs credited Jessica and Emma for earning this level with all their hard work on the court and asked the critics to stop building narratives for being rich. She feels only pure talent can bring someone into a US Open finals.
