Tennis star Novak Djokovic seems to be in a race to recover for Wimbledon and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Notably, the former world number one has been named to the Serbian squad for the 2024 Olympics. In addition, just a few days ago, a video of Djokovic working out in the gym was floating on social media after his knee surgery.

Following the same, tennis star Taylor Fritz was in touch with Djokovic to ask "some questions" concerning his recovery from injury. Taylor Fritz revealed that Novak Djokovic had "reached out" to the stable stage and might take part in the upcoming Wimbledon.

Interestingly, Fritz also underwent surgery just after the conclusion of the French Open 2021. However, he made his presence in Wimbledon. Following this, Djokovic can also return to make his presence in the third Grand Slam of the year.

Meanwhile, Djokovic has returned to playing tennis after undergoing arthroscopic surgery for a meniscus tear suffered during a recent French Open fourth-round encounter. Many believe the legendary Serb is pulling out of Wimbledon to give himself the best opportunity to be fit for the Paris Olympics; however, his status for the tournament, where he is a seven-time singles champion, is still uncertain. Fritz stated that he was back to hitting "five to six days" after his surgery.

It's possible for Novak to play: Taylor Fritz

“I told him what it was like for me. A lot of it comes down to the inflammation and how you react. It’s possible for Novak to play. It’s the exact same thing that I had and I played. Obviously, I wasn’t contending to win a title, I was just showing up to hopefully win a couple of rounds – but it is possible,” he said at Queen’s, as reported by tennis365.

“When I did it I couldn’t even walk. People are different. It’s the same actual injury. It really comes down to the level of inflammation. You pretty much have your full strength immediately. It’s more just the inflammation from the surgery. As long as you can get that down and start playing without it puffing up again, you’re actually going to be fine to play," he added further.
