The second day of the Laver Cup has had the same level of excitement and we have enjoyed all the matches so far in this event. The score is still levelled after 6 games and the next game to watch out for was between Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz who have shared some great matches this season so far. This was another battle to witness between the World number 2 and the American number 1 player in one of the most prestigious tournaments in tennis.

The last two times these two faced each other it was Fritz who got the better of Alexander Zverev as he beat him in both Grand Slam matches of Wimbledon and the US Open. So, without a doubt this was a redemption moment for the German number 1 player who will want to make sure he gets a win over the American after two disappointing results which affected his chances of winning his maiden Grand Slam title.

Fritz puts Team World in the lead

There is no doubt that Alexander Zverev is the higher ranked player but Taylor Fritz was still one of the players that has been giving him a hard time this season. The first set saw Fritz get a set over Zverev once again putting him under pressure. Fritz was just one more set away from making 3 in 3 against Zverev in the head-to-head battle. The last set might have seen a little bit of competitiveness from Zverev, but in the end he ended up losing his third consecutive match against Fritz.

This has now got Team World in the lead with the score now at 6-4 going into the doubles match. This was another disappointing performance from Zverev who once again failed to rise to the challenge against Fritz and lost in straight sets. This has now put a lot of pressure on Team Europe which will make their chances of gaining back their dominance in laver even harder.
